The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Wealden (Wealdenite: Prem'yer-minister Ob'yednanoi Respubliki Ouelden) is the head of government of the United Republic of Wealden. The prime minister is nominated by the parliament, conventionally following a general election, and is then appointed (or 'confirmed') by the president. In order to remain in office, the prime minister is required to retain the confidence of the Wealdenite parliament. The president is not authorised to nominate or remove a prime minister of their choosing. Typically, the prime minister is the leader of the largest party or coalition in parliament. but parties may choose to nominate their own candidate for prime minister who may not be the leader of any party, or the leader of a smaller party in a coalition. The sixteenth and current prime minister of Wealden is Nina Boyko, of the Worker's Labour Party, who assumed office in February 2021.
Typically, parliamentary (or "general") elections are due to take place every four years. The next elections to the Wealdenite parliament (and, subsequently, elections for prime minister) will happen in June 2024.
