Mount Coronet is a large dormant stratovolcano in the Genesis Volcanic Arc in Nagato, located on Ryouko Island about 120 kilometres (75 mi) west of Portland. With a summit elevation of 5,683 m (18,645 ft), it is the highest mountain in Nagato and the Genesis Arcipelago, the most topographically prominent mountain in Nagato, and the tallest in the Genesis Volcanic Arc.
Due to its high probability of an eruption in the near future, Mount Coronet is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, and it is on the Decade Volcano list. A large amount of glacial ice means that Mount Coronet could produce massive lahars which could threaten Ryouko Island and Western Nagato.
Name
Mount Coronet is named after a coronet, a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed on a metal ring, as the mountain itself is the "crown" of Nagato. The Genesi word Tengan literally means "celestial crown", considering the mountain's connection to Haruhi.
