Mateus Nataniel Torres (born August 18, 1956) is a retired Esteiran police general who was head of the Esteiran National Police from 1998 until 2021. Torres led the the National Police during the 2002 Esteiran self-coup d'état and is considered to have been instrumental in the success of President Luis Souza's takeover. His son is Geraldo Torres, current Speaker of the National People's Assembly of Esteira.
