The Martov-Addis schism, also known as the Martovist-Marxist or Martovist-Positivist schism was the opposition and removal of Martovist elements from a number of communist and socialist parties which the group had gained notoriety within following the premiership of Sariv Martov in Durakia, working alongside socialist opposition groups within the country. The schism, though underpinned by deferring interpretations of communism and the proletariat, was primarily brought about following denunciations of Martov's regime by a number of communist parties in Western Novaris after it launched an invasion of the Pivnich states in what is now eastern Durakia.

In May 1923, the Communist Party of Arlavia elected Martovist Nives Caronia to the position of General Secretary, marking a radical shift from the previously more moderate Centrust Marxist leadership. Caronia became a highly controversial leader amongst many of the party's more Orthodox and Centrist Marxist members, a matter which would only emerge more to the forefront as the oppressive and heavy-handed measures taken by Martov's regime against suspected "counter-revolutionary elements" came to light. A number of Arlavian socialists, rallying under the influential journalist Basili Addis formed the Positivist Socialist Convention (Convenzione Socialista Positivista, CSP), an organization for Marxists and leftists across Novaris to respond to the rise of Martovism and criticize Martov's regime.

In the following year, the First Durakan-Dwarven War began, and the CSP grew immensely alongside the negative response to the war amongst a number of left-wing parties. The Communist Party of Arlavia itself, under pressure by the CSP, removed Caronia from the position of General Secretary in October 1924, and her faction would eventually be expelled from the party, later forming the Arlavian Revolutionary Socialist Party, a precursor to the modern Party of Marxism-Martovism.
