Marnacia (historical)

The Kingdom of Maven was a sovereign state and absolute monarchy located in the south of present-day Aivintis which existed from 689 until 1753. Centered around the sprawling city of Maven, the Kingdom at its height included areas of the Grandys River Valley and even took territory from the Ethalrian Protectorate in Westport. The nation turned into a trading power as it grew and established itself as a regional power by the Renaissance. During the Aivintian Unification, Maven easily resisted Teronian military campaigns, but eventually the Maven King agreed to pass the Maven Act of Union in return for a high office in the new Kingdom.
