There have been 104 monarchs since the beginning of the Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria (as Ethalried), from 119 BCE until its dissolution on 10 May 1975. For 1271 years, the monarchy was ruled by male-preference primogeniture until 1152 where Matrilineal succession was established.

Until the demise of the last Elf royal family in Ethalria in the late 9th century, the royal families who inherited the throne were both Human and Usprian elves. Altogether, there were 14 Elven monarchs.
