The Kingdom of Almodaria (or just Almodaria) was an Almodarian Feudal, Dual Monarchic Kingdom in Central Arcturia that lasted from 955 CE to 1440 CE with the end of the 40 years' war. The nearly 500 years the kingdom lasted for was marked by historians as a time of chaos but peace in the area which abruptly ended with major revolts that brought the area back into darkness. At its peak, the Kingdom of Almodaria held dominion over much of the horn of east Arcturia and was the largest extent of any Almodarian state in history. The kingdom held limited elections for Vassals to nominate their heirs to become Royal Council members or if the reigning house was abolished, an election could be held for nomination of a king.
History
Pre Kingdom history (56 CE-955 CE)
Kingdoms of Almonia, Daria, and the Visidarians
For thousands of years prior to the Kingdom, the region had been a tumultuous and chaotic area. The three major kingdoms that made up what is now Almodaria were the Almonians (Modern day Tuvaria and parts of Aranistan), Darians (Aranistan, Almodor, Parts of Skavari), and the Visidarians (Varatistan, Most of Skavari). These three kingdoms had been warring with each other for resources and power for a long time now but by 56 CE, times were changing. Rising to the throne at only 16, Ivan II was showing to be another grand King of Daria. His father, Ivan I, led many campaigns against the Visidarian Barbarians in the south and he himself was also another grand and highly respected King. Ivan II had a different approach to the conflicts of the day and focused on bringing on the unity of the Almonian kingdom and his own. A strong, united realm would be capable of smashing the Visidarian soldiers in the southern regions and bring an end to the bloodshed. And so, many years after his coronation, he brought his grand army to the front gates of Visidarian territory in 40 CE. They called for an ultimatum where the Visidarians would give up their arms and swear fealty to the Kingdom. However, this didn't do anything and the Visidarians simply declined their offer and returned to business as usual. After this humiliating failure of a conquest, Ivan II decided to focus on uniting the Almonian-Darian Collective Identity back home.
Efforts to unite the two major kingdoms in Almodaria were tough as neither side could come to a good conclusion but were finally successful when in 56 CE, the reigning king of Almonia abdicated his throne and swore fealty to the Darians. The fallout following this decision was short lived and slowly the kingdom was being integrated into the realm. Ivan II believed that for equal representation from either side, there would need to be a Almonian King, and a Darian King under a dual monarchist state. This decision led to a short quandary known as the Dual Monarchy Schism in which those who believed in a dual monarch disagreed with those who wanted a single monarch, but this led to nothing, and it went under the radar once again. Finally, in 60 CE, the Almonians were fully integrated into the state and the kingdom was renamed to the Kingdom of North Almodar. Now that the kingdom was founded, Ivan II prospected for a Almonian king which ended in Miklos of Almonia being chosen to rule his side of the Kingdom due to his support in the integration process. He would be coronated in 61 CE.
