Ferdinand Romano (July 12, 1955) is a military officer, serving as the First Commander of the Second Fortunan Empire and Chief Commander of the Fortunan Armed Forces. He first served as an officer in the Emili state military where he participated in the Purification Campaign, Unification Campaigns, and Toscani Rebellion, rising through the ranks until he was promoted as a general. During his service in the Emili military, he built a close friendship with then Sergeant Tristano Lyone. When Lyone began his rise to power, Romano used his position to help Lyone gain support from the states' armed forces. Upon the creation of the Second Fortunan Empire, Lyone chose Romano to serve as his right hand man and promoted him as commander of the newly formed Fortunan Armed Forces which he continues to command to this day.

As with many military officers, Romano believes the military deserved to be given a large amount of autonomy due to their role in protecting the nation. Due to much persuasion by Romano and other senior officers, Lyone allowed for the military to act with a high level of freedom in return for their loyalty to him. Since Lyone's rise to power, Romano continues to remain supportive and loyal while further growing and modernizing the military. Entering into the 2010s, Romano was able to wield his new armed forces as the Empire began it's campaigns of annexation of nearby islands.
