The politics of Dvalheim work in the framework of the Dvalian constitution of 1985. According the constitution Dvalheim is an constitutional monarchy, with an national council that gives the nobility and the people equal say in leadership. With the People's Assembly being chosen every four year by the Dvalian people, and the Council of Nobles being reperesented by the most powerfull nobility. The People's Assembly remains the main legislative body of Dvalheim, being seen of larger importance than the council of nobles despite both having equal power. Two parties are represented in the People's Assembly, the Union Party and National Party. The Union Party is an conservative and Norgsveltian speaking majority party. The Union Party goal is to get Dvalheim to unite with Norgsveldet and to ensure special rights for Norgsveltian speakers, Union Party holding 54 seats in the assembly with it currently holding the presidency of the National Council.

The Council of Nobles holds equal power to that the People's Assembly, though its importance has been limited as it is rare for the Council to vote against the People's Assembly. The Council is made up with a mixture of nobles both born in Dvalheim but also outside it. With 40 of the 50 seats being held by native Dvalians with it being split equaly of the ethnic Norgsveltian and Tieresh, 8 seats being held by businessmen and nobles from [[Tangrland]] and [[Meremaa]].
