"The Role of the Comlár" by Economist Seosamh Faracháin, 1872.

The Comlár (composed of the Fefsen words "Comlacht" for Firm and "Lár" for Medium) is an encompassing term referring to a diverse range of entities, comprising small-to-medium-sized multigenerational family businesses and cooperatives with less than a thousand employees in Mirhaime and Thalor, all of which exhibit a high degree of specialization in their respective trades.

In Mirhaime, the pivotal role of the Comlár in the Ymirodraeic Revival positioned it as an exemplary model for the country's economic rejuvenation. Notably resilient to the short-termism prevalent in conventional market economies, the Comlár entities include historic family companies with origins tracing back to the era of the Trinterian Commonwealth. Throughout Mirhaime's challenging economic periods and political unrest, the Comlár has demonstrated adaptability, evolving into an ethos that instills pride in Mirhaimian craftsmanship and expertise.

As of 2023, a staggering 89% of all registered Mirhaimian enterprises fall within the Comlár category. These entities collectively employ over 82% of Mirhaime's workforce, constituting 63% of the Commonwealth's overall workforce. In a survey conducted in the same year in Thalor, 96% are classified as Comlár, and subsequently employ more than 90% of the country's workforce. Overall, Comlárs represent 38.9% of all exports in the All-Trinterian Economic Zone with a focus on machinery, autoparts, electrical equipment, food & beverages, and pharmaceutical.

Internationally recognized for its strength and noteworthy contributions to innovation and technology, the Comlár has established itself as a distinct brand and an integral part of the economies of both Thalor and Mirhaime. Continually adapting to the changing circumstances, government initiatives have been launched to modernize production by way of integrating information and communication technology (colloquially referred to as "Industry 4.0" in Mirhaime, and Thalor).
