With insurgency in the Dominion of [[Axdel]] worsening in the late 1930s and early 1940s and becoming a divisive political issue, he lost several rebellious backbench MPs to the opposition, forcing his hand in a [[1940 Great Morstaybishlian General Election|General Election]] which saw him lead a minority Labour government for 15 months. Upon the [[February 1942 Great Morstaybishlia General Election|February 1942 General Election]] he lost to [[Alec Lanx]] who himself had a hung parliament and led a [[MBE Liberal|Liberal]] minority government for 226 days; the shortest ministry ever in Morstaybishlia. In the [[September 1942 Great Morstaybishlia General Election|September 1942 General Election]] he led a second minority Labour government which lasted 280 days.
