Baraq is an electric and hybrid automobile passenger vehicle manufacturer from Packilvania. Its name means lightning in the Packilvanian language. It is based in Kemer and has a plant in Songai, Kharyat. The firm was founded in 2016, but began manufacturing vehicles in 2020, following its debut at the Kemer Clean Future Car Show. The company has manufactured 6 models and sold over 1.8 million cars.

History

Baraq was established in 2016 as an electric vehicle manufacturing company by Zuneyd Investments, a company that co-owned joint vehicle assembly plants with some foreign vehicle manufacturing brands. The company was initially directed at producing parts such as batteries for manufacturers of electric vehicles. In 2018, the company purchased a vehicle manufacturing plant of a foreign automobile manufacturer as well as licenses to the intellectual property of their electric vehicle mdoels that were no longer producing. In 2020, the company was able to launch its first electronic vehicle which debuted at the Kemer Clean Future Car Show. The company has received funding from the Packilvanian Development Bank as part of a state-run program to boost the local clean energy industry. The fund was aimed at enabling Packilvanian firms to climb up the value chain of the clean energy sector because Packilvania was already the foremost producer of raw materials used in vehicle manufacturing.

The company also benefitted from regulations that were introduced by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy so that foreign electric vehicle manufacturers had to have charging cables and terminals that were set to certain standards optimized for the Packilvanian electrical grid. Additionally, there were tariffs which were introduced that made foreign-made electric vehicles unaffordable for many people. Thus, the company was able to dominate the domestic market. It became the largest electric vehicle manufacturer in Packilvania in 2022, selling over 1.8 million new vehicles. The company is currently based out of the city of Kemer. The company is regarded as a National Business Champion and is looking to export its low cost vehicles to foreign nations.
