Aura, officially the Aura Capital Province is the capital city and federal district of Emberwood Coast. It is the central city of the Aura metropolitan area. As of the 2024 census, the city had a population of 51,899,747, and most of the urban area lies within the Maple province. The city is divided into several local districts, each of which coincides with an equivalent rally, and fewer than 5 million of residents of the metropolitan area live outside of the city limits. The city is on the western coast of Aurora, on the coast of the Cerenerian Ocean encompassing the full coast of Arcadia Bay. It borders the Yellowleaf Forest to its south and southwest, the Acedalia Plains to the North, Mapleleaf Lake to the northwest, the foothills of the Auric Mountains to the east. As home to the headquarters of the United Nations of the Auroran Continent, Aura is an important center for diplomacy and politics.
According to the 2024 national census, the city has a population of 51,899,747 people spread across 1,221.9 square kilometres (471.8 sq mi), making Aura the most densely populated and the second most populous city on the Auroran continent. It is the largest city in Emberwood Coast in both area and population, comprising almost 20% of the nation's 46506.83km² area and over two thirds of its population; it is also the demographic, economic and geographical center of the Northwest megalopolis and Aura metropolitan area. Thanks to its location along the coast of the Cenerian, the rapid growth and development of the urban areas of the metropolitan area, and the sociopolitical environment of the city, it is the single largest point of entry for immigration in Aurora. Aura houses over 4.6 million people born outside Emberwood Coast, with over 5.2 million of them born on other continents.
The area the city now covers was first settled in 1515, as a Kormistazic trading port in what today encompasses parts of the city's Northway district and Embassy Row.
