The monarchist groups at first targeted by Gurkovsky were the Kamenevists, Monarchy Now, the New Royal Army, and the Uzlovaya Royalists. These were known in government circles as the Big Four and considered the most serious threats to the Volkian republic, though their numbers remained relatively low in comparison to republican loyalists.
