Valkyr Media Arts Festival is a an annual festivial held since 1979, host by the House of Bjørn and the Vakrestrender Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The festival begins with an open competition and culminates with the awards of several prizes and exhibition.
The judging is done by a panel of judges of artistic merit or background and a openly held vote. There are four categories: non-digital art (Usually a physical exhibition, example being Green Tiny Room but also includes non-animated movies), Interactive Art (formerly called the entertainment media), animation and manga. Within each category, One Grand Prize, four Excellence Prize and the Popular Vote.
