The user interface of IOS is based on direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. The control elements of the interface include sliders, switches and buttons. Internal accelerometers are used by some applications to shake the device or rotate it in three dimensions. Various accessibility features allow users with visual and hearing impairments to use UOS correctly.
Major versions of UOS are released every year. The current version, UOS 21, was released to the public on March 17, 2022.
