Naming System

The McCloud class of cruisers was named after important figures in history, regardless of national origin, albeit giving a preference to South Hills born people or allies.

The class was initially supposed to be named after Former President Josiah Bartlet, however, followers of Vekaiyun Catholicism, a growing religious force in South Hills at the time, successfully petitioned the first ship (and thus the class) to be named after Vekaiyun War Hero Todd McCloud. Josiah Bartlett was pushed to the second ship in the class.
