In 1995 when Thumim was 17, Crown Prince Noi was crowned Sultan-King [[Namdun III]] of [[Packilvania]] and [[Drakkengard]]. Elevated to the role of Crown Prince, he had to reunite with his dad. Thumim resigned from the military at the age of 27 in 2003. In part to make up for their broken past, Sultan Namdun III appointed Thumim to senior projects and programmes in the government, allowing him unprecedented political access and resources. Crown Prince Thumim Bedon was responsible for various infrastructure and institution building projects throughout the nation and brought many progressive and modern ideas to the running of the nation that his father administered. On a diplomatic visit to the country by President Susanto Sudjawardia of [[United Malordia]], he was nearly assassinated by 5 attackers who managed to infiltrate the military security and bomb the Behayeen Bridge in Bingol which was over a portion of the processional route for his cavalcade back to the [[Bingol Royal Palace]] from the Palace of Parliament. Further investigation by the [[intelligence agencies of Packilvania]] revealed that it was orchestrated by Prince Kujil, former Governor of [[Kemer]], who eventually apprehended him in [[Blueacia]] and brought him back to the country.

Thumim V ascended to the position of [[Sultan of Packilvania]] on 24 December 2022 following the abdication of his predecessor [[Namdun III]]. On his ascension, he became the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the [[Amhoud I Family Trust]], the largest private family trust on [[Urth]] by assets under management. The first act of his reign was to send a letter via the Crescent, a state owned newspaper, (which was later distributed to international news media), stating that he planned to focus his reign on combating crime and terrorism, building institutions, fighting corruption, modernising the government, and empowering women through a Paxist lens, cutting carbon emissions and raising the country to a lower upper income nation.
His second major act was to appoint [[Princess Yadika]] and Prince Tubida as members of the [[Council of State]] (whom he appointed as Governor of [[Shakar]] to replaced Prince Sajahal). He submitted a medical report from a urologist stating that there was a possibility that his infertility was reversable with appropriate medical treatment. As such, he presented this report to the [[Council of State]] and proposed that the line of succession be amended such that his younger brother [[Prince Abuyin]] would not be the heir apparent and would thus be ineligible to ascend to the position of the [[Crown Prince of Packilvania]] and removed from his position as the Deputy Crown Prince. The Council narrowly accepted this with the Sultan Emeritus and the Sultana Mother abstaining.
