Stražsko, officially the The New Stražská Order, is a landlocked, unitary, sovereign state and military dictatorship located in Southeast Gondwana. In 2010, the civilian government of the Union of Stražsko was overthrown in a military coup d’état led by General Ondřej Kadlec, establishing the New Stražská Order as a stratocracy. The New Stražská Order is ruled by the Ochránce, who serves as Head of State and Head of Government, with delegation to various Ministers, who concurrently serve in high military offices. The courts were dismantled, and crimes are handled mostly by the secret police, the Umlčet. Without a functioning legislature, laws are issued as executive orders by the Ochránce and members of his cabinet.

Since 1962, Stražsko has been ruled by a series of unstable parliamentary governments, following a long period under totalitarian communist rule. Due to a hard line policy of autarky and the length of recovery from communism, the Stražská economy is, quite frankly, shit, and poverty is a constant in the lives of the lower and middle classes. Military officers and war veterans are treated as first class citizens, with various benefits keeping them loyal to the ruling regime. Soldiers employed under the New Stražská Order are also rewarded with benefits for their family, and the defense industry is subsidized to secure a strong military-industrial complex.

Stražsko is diplomatically isolated from the world, closing its borders to foreign nations and maintaining a strict policy of autarky and no immigration or emigration. The Stražská economy is built on the agriculture sector and industries associated with the military-industrial complex. A developing nation, Stražsko’s natural resources include coal, iron, copper, granite, limestone, lead, and natural gas. Stražská military expenditure numbers 4.4 billion a year, almost 20.9% of the government budget.
