'''Staynes''' is a country in [[Aurora|Northeastern Aurora]], making up one of the four constituent countries of [[Great Morstaybishlia]], two of which, [[Valeria]] and [[KaltarKaltariezh]], it borders to the south and east respectively. It also shares a border with [[DurentriaDrakaland]] to the southeast. Often regarded as the Cradle of Aurora due to its central location between the [[Molvian Corridor]] and the [[Horn of KaltarKaltariezh]], the capital [[Sani Bursil]] is the largest, most diverse and prosperous city in the world, with over fifty million residents. It is also the seat of the [[Parliament of Great Morstaybishlia|Morstaybishlian Parliament]] and the [[Lambertus VII|monarchy]]. The city sits on the west banks of [[Morsa Lake]], the second largest freshwater lake in the world, draining into the [[Morstaybishlian Sea]] to the north via the River Rombar. A tiny part of the lower [[Zycannes]] are in the south, seperated from the [[Bolvinian Plateau]] by [[Bishop's Pass]], the main migratory corridor to the continental south. The largest river, the Kuthern, flows from the Zycannes through mainly flat country, draining into the Western Sea. At the rivermouth sits [[Redrugus (city)|Redrugus]], the second largest city with over five million residents, named after the national heroine [[Rugus the Red]] whom led the defence of the early Estenes settlements of [[Peragen#Impelanza|Impelanza]] against the Kingdom of Dumnowes. The majority of the north coast is uninhabited because of the Malderva Rainforest. King Fredmund I began the Staynish conquest of Toransla in 664, lasting 20 years and concluding with Fredmund II signing the Treaty of the River Kuthern, vastly expanding the Staynish realm south.
