Emberwood Coast is divided into 5 [[provinces]] [[List of rallies in Emberwood Coast|82 rallies]], each of which has a civic center, or seat of local government. The state has [[List of municipalities in Emberwood Coast |110 municipalities]] in total. The Office of Management and Budget designates [[List of metropolitan areas of Emberwood Coast|six metropolitan areas]] in Emberwood, [[Aymes|one of which]] extends into neighboring Axdel. To limit suburban sprawl, legislation was enacted in 1979 to strictly control low density expansion of metro areas.

Aura is Emberwood Coast's capital and largest city, with over 4050,000,000 residents. Its [[Aura metropolitan area|59-rally metropolitan area]] has been the nation's largest since its organization in 1970 and is the fastest-growing metropolitan area in Aura, with about 2 million residents. East Aura hosts not only the nation's two chip-fabrication factories, but also Aurora's largest superconductor plant. Southern Aura is a bustling cultural center, highlighted by the Gateway Arch and Southgate Mall. Central Aura is one of the densest urban areas on Urth, featuring the historic Broken Light walk and the Twin Arcologies. [[Portside]] is home to over 8.5 million people and features the majority of Emberwood's maritime establishments. While Aura contains more coastline, the capital has stricter regulations on industrial seaside development. Therefore, Portside has more ports, harbors, and drydocks, and hosts most international trade for Emberwood. Food exports from Portside include staple crops like wheat and corn from Myriad, and orchard products from the city of Kaleidoscope. [[Rockport]] is the military headquarters of the Coast. It contains the Rockport Naval Headquarters, as well as North Coast International Airport. Additionally, the city is just west of the border with Axdel, making it a center for overland trade, with several warehouses, depots, and rail stations. Nearly a half dozen high-speed rail stations connect Rockport to the Axdelian Border.

The Emberwood Coast Space Exploration Administration employs several thousand employees and contracts out much of its construction work. It has had several successful missions.
