A de-facto agreement was reached by field officers of city's multinational garrison following the declaration of insurrection by Aodhan Alor on April 5, 1944, made possible by irrefutable evidence of Gliúisín Fáthráin interference. The crisis ended definitively by May 29 after fierce fighting between the ad-hoc coalition and heavily-armed Gliúisín Fáthráin with all sides returning to the status quo ante bellum.
