Line 47: === Escalation === Initially the conflict was largely contained within the ~~Mafia~~Marmotta clan, with both sides using their connections and resources to carry out attacks and intimidate their rivals. However, as the violence escalated, other Mafia groups saw an opportunity to expand their own power and influence by taking advantage of the chaos. These outside groups began to align themselves with one faction or the other, providing funding, weapons, and other resources to support their chosen side. This only served to intensify the conflict, as both factions became more and more entrenched in their positions.
