The People's Synod is the highest body in Durdanini, elected every 8 years. Each Tribe has 12 seats , with each Ancestry having 24 in total. The exception to this is the Timtalum Tribe, which receives 24 seats, as it is its own ancestry, as well as the biggest tribe, due to their widespread intermarriage throughout Durdanini.

Durdanini is composed of 24 distinct Tribes, each arranged in pairs forming 12 Ancestries. According to legend each Ancestry is named after a legendary founder, with the tribes in each Ancestry being named after that founder's Two Children, arranged into Elder and Younger Tribes. The Exception to this is the Tribe of Timtalum, who are the closest direct descendants of the Milofites who landed at Timtalum and founded Durdanini as it is now known today.
