He was nominated as a compromise candidate. He negotiated a supply and confidence agreement between the two parties and was eventually elected to the position of Prime Minister by the National Assembly. The [[Emperor of Polynesia]] confirmed his election. He was lauded for the diverse parties that were represented in his Cabinet. He has primarily governed by building consensus. Unfortunately, he has been criticised for being slow and indecisive.
