Terminology and Etymology
"Suvol" is documented in many ancient manuscripts and carvings to be an homage to an ancient deity that was central to the culture's identity: Svul, the God of the Winds and Sea. The religion that this deity belonged to is no longer well-known, however the religion is believed to have been made up of a large pantheon of gods and demi-gods, as evident by a number of archaeological sites and artifacts, like the of SvulTower, items found in the Ghurieli Caverns, and the Stone of Alivul.
