Volkia's healthcare system dates from the Liberal governments of the 1930s and 1940s. Since the mid-1930s, provisions and reforms strengthened and overhauled the system to transform it into the robust {{Wp|universal healthcare}} system that is in place today. In 2018, Volkia spent 11.4% of its GDP on healthcare. Approximately 79% of health expenditures are covered by government funded agencies while the remaining 21% are privately funded.
