The Kingdom was created after a series of wars known as the [[Alksearian Wars for Unification]]. The capital city was moved from Sera-Novia to Urgia-Nova in 1842 after King [IDK WHO AT THIS POINT AAAAAAAAAAAAA] decided that 1) it was a more central location and 2) offered better space for the Tuvanian Manor. The Eldras Manor (previously known as the Tuvanian Castle) still stands today, and is a popular tourist location for people to see.
King Eldras VI started to move the kingdom away from absolutism into a more constitutional monarchy in late 2020. This move has been met with a lot of controversy within Alksearia. The first government formed was under [[Matthias Barbet]], however, his government came to end in October 2020, leading to then-Princess-Regent Dorothea to call for a new election. The Prime Minister is the Head of Government of Alksearia. The Prime Minister has the job of assembling the Cabinet, and governing the domestic and internal affairs of Alksearia. While this position has been created as an elected position in 2020, there was a position known as Ministre de la Couronne (Staynish: Minister to the Crown) that served as an advisor to the Crown until it was disbanded in 1870. The Prime Minister is the leader of the party with the majority of the seats. If there is a coalition, the Prime Minister is the leader of the party with the most seats. The position of Deputy Prime Minister does not exist, unless there is a coalition whereas the deputy( or deputies) are the leaders of the minority parties in the coalition. The Cabinet of the Prime Minister assists the Prime Minister govern and create committees to get laws passed pertaining to the internal affairs of the nation.

The General Assembly is the lower house of the Parliament, and is the seat of the Government is formed. Each member of the General Assembly represents a district in Alksearia. There are currently [ENTER AMOUNT OF MPs CAUSE SHADOW CHANGED THE POP OF ALKSEARIA RECENTLY] in the General Assembly. The General Assembly has the power to introduce and enact laws. A simple majority is required for all laws to pass. The Crown has the ability to veto any law passed by the General Assembly, but the General Assembly can override the veto by voting with 2/3rds majority after the veto. In the event a treaty is submitted to the General Assembly, it requires the approval of both the General Assembly and the Senate to pass. The Senate has advisory powers to all laws enacted by the General Assembly, but they don't usually kick it back to the General Assembly unless it impedes on Noble Rights. The General Assembly and the Senate help to formulate a budget for the fiscal year.
The current ruling Party, Liberal Alksearia, has a majority in the General Assembly with 230 seats after an election in late July. They held onto this majority until 15th October 2020, when the government fell with the arrest of Matthias Barbet, and the leadership of Liberal Alksearia unable to reach a decision on a new leader. There is a special election that will happen on the 9th January 2021, but final official results won't be in until 12th January, 2021. So far, the plurality of seats will go to Liberal-Democrats with the Nationalists coming in with the second most seats.
====The Senate====
The Senate of Alksearia is comprised of elected nobles and appointed nobility. All elected members of the Senate hold the title Baron/Baroness while all appointed nobles are titled Lord/Lady. This does not correlate to any pre-existing titles that they hold. All the Barons/Baronesses are elected by their peers (anyone with a Sir/Madam title or higher) and serve 5 year terms. They cannot run for re-election the follow term, but after sitting out for a term, they are allowed to run once again. The elective process for a Baron/Baroness is different from the General Assembly. Instead of a traditional First Past the Ballots, the 200 nobles with the highest vote count are elected to a 5 year term. In the event of a tie, a run-off is held a month later. Baron/Baroness run without party affiliation, and instead form voting blocs depending on the issue at hand.
Lords/Ladies are appointed by the Crown and confirmed on by the General Assembly. There is no limit to the amount of appointed nobles allowed in the Senate. Lords/Ladies serve lifetime terms upon confirmation, or until the Crown removes them from their seat.
