In 1981, evidence implicating the Coast in allegations of intelligence operations during the Imperial War; although it later turned out the missions were all preventative against WMD attacks by various nations. The operation in Norograd, however, failed. A bad decision on the part of Syng coupled with bad luck left two agents dead and indirectly resulted in the kinetic weapon attack on [[Ethalria]]. Amid the turmoil of finger pointing and political investigations, along with accusations of further ongoing antagonisation towards the Staynish Bloc, and having since been elected as a legislative representative, Syng resigned from that position on November 30th, 1981.

Hansleigh's presidency was mostly uneventful, besides occasional foreign aid drops the nation could almost have been said to have been isolationist.
