Leon Redrugus-Hordia, a Staynish manufacturing magnate, founded Automobile Redrugus in 1961 to compete with established marques, including [[Audelli]]. The company gained wide acclaim in 1966 for the Frosili sports coupé, which established rear mid-engine, rear wheel drive as the standard layout for high-performance cars of the era. Royal grew rapidly during its first decade, but sales plunged in the wake of the [[Auroran Imperial War]]. The firm's ownership changed three times after 1975, including a bankruptcy in 1979. It has since recovered, relocating its headquarters twice in the 90s. It's now based in Monefuse, a small city on the very-southern Corstanil Coast, Staynes.
