The People's Liberation Army of Saframalani, also often refered to as the Saframalani Armed Forces, is the primary military force of the Republic of Saframalani and is sometimes considered to be an armed wing of the Sa'athist Party that rules the country. The PLAS consists of six military branches: the PLAS Ground Force, PLAS Air Force, PLAS Naval Force, PLAS Strategic Support Force, PLAS Rocket Force and the Republican Guard. It is under the command of the Ministry of Defence, with the exception of the Republican Guard that answers directly to the President.

The PLAS is the direct successor to the Imperial Saframalani Armed Forces and the short lived Revolutionary Armed Forces, being reorganised out of the two in 1904 following the Sa'athist coup. The relationship between the Sa'athist government and the military has always been one of close cooperation and the PLAS itself has always been maintained as key to the ideological model of the Sa'athist Saframalani state, although the various civilian institutions have dwarfed it in political and social impact over time.
