Oilean is an Aivintian Dependency with a two-House parliament system. The Executive is run by the Prime Minister, but with the recent vacancy of the office in June 2020, the Military Governor, General Martin Ambrose, has suspended the executive and authorized a military occupation of Oilean in response to the Oilean Republican Crisis. |

The capital is Dunbronach, a large metropolis sandwiched by the military bases of Fort Iron and Fort Steel, currently two of the largest Aivintian garrisons in the world. The urban area population of Dubronach reached 1.5 million in 2020, a huge milestone for the Oileanian peoples. The second largest city of Oilean is Templegar, with a population of 210 thousand. |

In Prehistoric times, the first Oileanians came across the Southern Gondwanan Land Bridge. Hunters and gatherers, they chased the land's plentiful game, before settling on the Emerald Isles after the innovation of farming. Oileanian civilization mostly relied on penned animals such as cattle and sheep, but farming was not a negligible aspect of society. Based on archaeological evidence, these Oileanian fields were extensive farming networks, separated by dry-stone crops. Wheat and barley were the earliest crops. Society developed not too long after Oileanian settlements had sprouted up, setting the stage for the history of Oilean. |

Militarily, Oilean is under the occupation of the [[Aivintis#Military|Aivintian Armed Forces]]. Their sovereign military was dissolved in the Treaty of Fort Steel, and replaced with an Aivintian garrison, which has, over the years, grown to a significant size. The role of the Aivintian military in Oilean is mainly to keep order and peace, which involves putting down any attempted uprisings and maintaining Aivintian rule. Historically, the Oileanians themselves have provided very little for the Aivintian military, mostly due to mutual distrust and fear. Since the Federal Kritarchy took over, however, Oilean has played a much more active role, although only a small number of Oileanians have been allowed to enlist. |
