In Prehistoric times, the first Oileanians came across the Southern Gondwanan Land Bridge. Hunters and gatherers, they chased the land's plentiful game, before settling on the Emerald Isles after the innovation of farming. Oileanian civilization mostly relied on penned animals such as cattle and sheep, but farming was not a negligible aspect of society. Based on archaeological evidence, these Oileanian fields were extensive farming networks, separated by dry-stone crops. Wheat and barley were the earliest crops. Society developed not too long after Oileanian settlements had sprouted up, setting the stage for the history of Oilean.

By the Bronze Age, Oilean experienced innovations such as the wheel; harnessing oxen; weaving textiles; brewing alcohol; and skillful metalworking, produced new weapons and tools, along with fine gold decoration and jewelry, such as brooches and torques. Society from the Bronze Age to the late BCEs is still very much a mystery, but many prominent scholars argue that the similarity of architecture and other signs of civilization across much of southeastern Gondwana, including Oilean, corroborates the idea of an ancient empire, akin to the one purported by [[Lerasian mythology]]. Whether or not this is true, what is true is that society in these times flourished.
