Nordörn is the operational code-name for recurring joint exercises held by the Conference for Amity and Cooperation. The exercises allow the military forces of each participating nation to test new technologies and cross-train equipment and tactics. Nordörn is held biennially during March and April on even-numbered years. Though there is no standard format to the exercises, they typically involve ground, sea, and air elements and are normally held in the Rotantic Circle. Scenarios range from search-and-rescue and disaster relief exercises to counterpiracy, counterterrorism, and combined-arms maneuvers. All CAC members are invited to participate.
With Exercise Nordörn, the CAC seeks to improve interoperability between its member-states while promoting regional security and stability. It is also critical to maintaining and honing the valuable Rotantic capabilities of participating armed forces, particularly amidst efforts to develop the Northern Way around Novaris.
Name
"Nordörn" translates to "Northern Eagle" in Cryrian.
Exercises
Nordörn 2022
Nordörn 2022 was held from 1 March to 5 April, and was marked by an opening ceremony in the Cryrian city of Tynam, and a closing ceremony in the Kelami League. All five CAC member-states participated in the exercises. Air and naval components took place primarily in the Tynam Straits, while army maneuvers were held in the Kelami League. Nordörn 2022 saw sizable force commitments and is one of the largest multi-national exercises held in the region's recent history. The maneuvers also offered important insight into a number of defense industry projects and suggested a continued focus on unmanned technologies as well as fifth generation aircraft development.

Phase 1
The first phase of Nordörn 2022 consisted of in-port conferences, meetings, and and events involving officers and defense industry representatives from the participating nations. Major points of discussion included the continued development of the Northern Way as well as experience gained during disaster relief operations after the 2021 tsunami in Borea. Other points regarding intelligence and military developments in Novaris and across the globe were touched upon, signalling increased interest for closer data-sharing and intelligence infrastructure.
Phase 2
The second phase of the exercises contained the naval-oriented components of Nordörn 2022. These most notably included maritime interdiction and live-fire exercises, but also encompassed mine-clearance, law enforcement, and salvage operations. The RCRN provided one of its Kraken-class submarines to partake in submarine-warfare drills with the other fleets.
Phase 2 witnessed several new technology demonstrations. A prototype of the Örn Skördeman stealth drone was deployed to test its capabilities against the deployed air defenses. The UCAV also conducted the first live fire tests of the new Type Q+ Laser Guided Bomb. The LGBTQ+ was deemed successful.
Phase 3
The final phase of Nordörn 2022 took place on land in the Kelami League. This was the terrestrial portion of Nordörn and included a series of logistical exercises culminating testing the response capabilities of the involved nations and culminating in combined arms maneuvers.
The Älemsi contingent demonstrated prototypes of its Hejeld Khaigch UCAV during Phase 3.
