History
Following the assassination of president First Last, lawmakers determined that a breakdown in communication between the country's two police services resulted in a missed opportunity to ultimately prevent Last Name's assassination. In an effort to improve communication and improve policing overall in Esteira, Law 1967-005 was passed by the People's National Assembly and signed into law by president First Last. This law unified the Civil Guard and Investigative Police, and created a unified police service responsible for general policing and investigations.
The new police force was given a wide range of responsibilities, which led to the creation of specialized divisions and bureaus dedicated to specific roles.
