Revie (who bore the surname Runnells at the time) was initially Vice President under Frederick Beaumont, who won the 1974 presidential election by a landslide victory. The 1974 Beaumont-Runnells campaign was one of the most expensive in Cappedorite history. On 1 September 1976, Beaumont was taken into hospital for a heart attack and later died in office, meaning that Revie was to become President.
Despite her membership of the Cappedore Conservative Union, Revie has been known to hold 'socially progressive and libertarian views.' She once identified herself as 'centre-left' and 'both economically and socially liberal' and that her membership of the Conservative Union was purely because of her conservative economic values. Revie is descended from the Runnells family, one of the most significant families during the Cappedorite Revolutionary War.
During her presidency, Revie married George Revie-Holmes (born 1934; died 2021) in 1984.

Revie had a moderately privileged upbringing, especially due to her status as a member of the Runnells family.
