Revie (who bore the surname Runnells at the time) was initially Deputy Chancellor under Frederick Beaumont, who assumed the office of chancellor in 1981 following the sudden death of his predecessor, Kieran Ortega. The 1981 Beaumont-Runnells campaign was one of the most expensive in Wealdenite history.

Despite her membership of the Wealdenite [[Unionist Party (Wealden)|Unionist Party]], known for its conservative values, Revie has been known to hold 'socially progressive and libertarian views.' She once identified herself as 'centre-left' and 'both economically and socially liberal' and that her membership of the Unionist party was purely because of her conservative economic values. Revie is descended from the Runnells family.

During her time as chancellor, Revie married George Revie-Holmes (born 1934; died 2021) in 1984.
