Loren, officially the Metropolis of Loren is the largest city in Mirhaime. Its metropolitan area (10,235 square kilometers or 3,591 square miles) is densely populated with an estimated 29.468 million residents as of 2020; the city proper has a population of 10.32 million people. Located at the head of Aeterite Gulf, Loren forms the center of the Grand Dominion of Aeter, Mirhaime's largest and most economically important region. Loren currently serves as Mirhaime's economic center and surrounds the autonomous city of Imirodreath which is currently serving as the seat of both of the Mirhaimian Government and the Léiadh of the Trinterian Realm. Loren is generally considered to be one of the cradles of Trinterian civilization and Abhailist culture. and one of the centers of significance to Abhailism along the Range of Abhaile.

According to historical records, Loren's history could be traced back to around 30 centuries prior, with mythological records date its founding to around 942 BCE. The site whereupon Loren is located had been inhabited for much longer with a history of continuous settlement dating back three millennias. Loren's history coincides with the history of the Kingdom of Marga and, later the Trinterian Commonwealth which was first proclaimed in the city in 23 CE. As such, the city has always remained politically prominent serving as the seat of the Trinterian Bainrith, and, with the founding of the Federation of the Trinterian Realm, the Mirhaimian Léiadh.

The first permanent, organized settlements in the region was established by Moriathan settlers around the 8th century BCE. Rapidly expanding thanks to favourable geographic conditions, and the presence of valuable national resources, successively becoming the seat of the Kingdom of Marga, the Diarchic-era Southern Marga (also referred to as the Aeterite Kingdom), and the Trinterian Commonwealth, establishing its prestige as an imperial city and a metropolis as the center of political power in Mirhaime. Following the collapse of the Trinterian Commonwealth, Loren was the point of contention for various Trinterian polities thanks to its cultural, religious and political significance though ultimately the Marghal Throne was restored and the city (including Imirodreath within) was established as the seat of power for the Second Commonwealth.

During the Industrial Revolution beginning in the 19th century, Loren underwent rapid industrialization and thus urbanization with its population swelling to well over three million by 1870. Following the Enlightened Reformations of the 1870s, Loren had seen significant changes to its administrative structure and electoral colleges. With the latest revisions being approved in 1985, Loren has since administrated 15 cities (including the duchies of Chardagh, Cearsagh and Brecon) as well various satellite towns and suburbs in its northern area, as well as special administrative duties over the Nedhen Channel Tunnels.

Loren is the largest urban economy in Mirhaime by gross domestic regional product, and is categorized as an Alpha+ city by the Mirhaimian government. As such, Loren exerts a strong influence on its arts, entertainment, fashion, commerce and finance, education, health care, media, science and technology, tourism, and transport and communications. As Mirhaime's leading business hub, it is also the center of a greater industrial region encompassing nearly the entirety of the Grand Dominion of Aeter. Loren is also home to the Loren Stock Exchange as well as many of Mirhaime's major companies.

Today, Loren is an international research and development hub and is likewise represented by several major universities and academic institutions, most notably OSEAGHE, Cearsagh House of Learning, Géramir PolytechnicsGéramir Station is the central hub for Mirhaime's high-speed railway network.
