The role of Leader of the Labour Party was created in 1900 when Kimbet Branson formed the political party. In 1917, Branson
When Branson retired, the line of succession passed to Venran Bisherne. The Labour Party voted to establish elections and in 1924 Riannar Bell became the first elected Labour leader.
