The '''Kwarim''', or '''Kwari people''', are one of the three indigenous peoples inhabiting the island of [[Hayaneste]] off the southern coast of Gondwana; what is now the nations of [[Hlenderia]] and [[Joralesia]]. The Mūnim speak their own dialect of the [[Hlenderian language]], and practice their own variation of the [[Hlenderian religion]], known to its practitioners as "la-Dereik". Anthropologists have often categorized the Kwarim as living a lifestyle "in-between" the highly urbanized [[Vrotrim]] and the rural, occasionally nomadic [[Mūnim]]. In reality, rural and urban lifestyles both occur among the Kwarim, with the Hlenderian capital of Pelachis being located in traditionally Kwari territory.
The Kwari people live in the northern and eastern parts of Hayaneste, including eastern [[Joralesia]]. Fishing is an important economic driver along the coast, with Hlenderia's manufacturing and mining bases both predominant in the interior of its Kwari territory. The Kwari expression of the native Hlenderian religion is highly organized and hierarchical, with most Kwari settlements being built around a central temple known as a "chapel". The ancient tradition of ancestor veneration also remains important to the Kwari sects, as it is with the Mūni.
