In 2020, the population of Kuthernburg officially reached 79 million people, as recorded by the Kuthern Census. With the exception of the region surrounding the capital, Luthernburg, the most populated areas lie around the Great Lakes. The population of Spain has risen 4 1/2 times since 1900, when it stood at 22.3 million, principally due to the spectacular demographic boom in the 1960s and early 1970s.
In 2019, the average total fertility rate across Kuthernburg was 4.44 children born per woman, one of the highest in the world, above the replacement rate of 2.1, it remains considerably below the high of 5.11 children born per woman in 1899. The identity of Kuthernburg rather accrues of an overlap of different territorial and ethnolinguistic identities than of a sole Kuthern identity. In some cases some of the territorial identities may conflict with the dominant Kuthern culture. Distinct traditional identities within Kuthernburg, although to some extent all of the autonomous communities may claim a distinct local identity.
It is this last feature of "shared identity" between the more local level or autonomous community and the Kuthern level which makes the identity question in Kuthernburg complex and far from univocal.

The constitution also establishes that "the other Spandardian languages" that is, the other languages of Kuthernburg will also be official in their respective autonomous communities in accordance to their Statutes, their organic regional legislation, and that the "richness of the distinct linguistic modalities of Spain represents a patrimony which will be the object of special respect and protection."
