The Kaira tome states that in the beginning, there was only an endless void, featureless and dark like a starless twilight. Upon this expanse there was a single icon of creation; the floating city of Lapatus in which humanity thrived. In Lapatus there was no ill or suffering, only luxury and ecstasy. The people spent their days pursuing novel arts and exploring the exotic culture spread of the city, and were ruled over by the eternal king Juluri Kanaquill. However, whilst all inside the city were fully satisfied with the world and existence, within the darkness of the void there existed an entity known as Kevatuul, the incarnate God of Chaos. Kevatuul had watched the city for eternity, eyes burning with scorn as the magic keeping the city afloat in the void also prevented him from destroying it and allowing his void to reach true entropy and ending time. |
