The Kilionite dynasty (officially known as the House of Kilion, Packilvanian: luBayeetdonah aluKilion) is the former ruling dynasty of the Kingdom of Yukader and subsequently the Kingdom of Kharyat. Today, it is a tribe in Packilvania. One branch has been given made a member of the noble families of Packilvania and the head of the family is currently Duke of Yukader, Khaldeen a-Sabraan Kilion.

Legendary History

The Kilion family traces its founder to Kilion a-Nakhdeen (spelt Ksharyin in Old Kharyati). The family records claim that he lived around 2,000 years ago. They claim that Kilion built an ancient castle from which he defended the Oshdanadim people from an attack by the Ultuwaniyam. Historians believe that neither the Oshdanadim nor the Ultuwaniyam truly existed. Historians also question whether Kilion as described by the family. Prof Gurmeda Suljamad conducted research which points to Kilion having most likely existed in the 5th century CE and was mostly likely a quaint farmer.

Early days

Prof Suljamad's research suggest that the person who really brought the family to notoriety was Alkhayad Nawadeem, a Lord who gained tenure and territory following his victories in wars for King Hajmad of Ikhnahan. His descendent, Thuliyad Nawadeem, led an army that took the city of Ikhnahan. They spread to Shawal Dameed and conquered the people there. He then built Ariyad Najh. In the 7th century, Yukad I named the city Yukader after himself. His successor, Iliamed I, proclaimed himself King summoning his vassals and relatives and making them Lords and dividing the realm among them.

Kingdom of Kharyat

The family expanded in up to the borders of present day Kharyat in the 9th century, resisting the Iktanite dynasty. They were subjugated as vassals of the High King. He in turn preserved them as Kings and they accepted his authority. King Umadiyam even sent scholars to the Council of Bingol in 980 CE to approve the Bas Magdamar and establish the Magisterium of Paxism. Umadiyam was a firm ally and loyal subject of the Iktanite dynasty and so were his successors. They even subjugated surrounding nations and put down rebellions on behalf of the Iktanite dynasty. When the Iktanite dynasty fell a distantly related branch of the main Kilionite branch that had practically split off into a separate line of Lords overthrew the main branch.

Independence

They maintains the Kingdom of Kharyat and expanded east and westward, they often came into conflict which the Rulhanite dynasty who ruled over Bingol and were the Dominators (main rulers) of the Meked Confederacy, a group of smaller principalities in the area of modern day Mekedesh.

Fall

The Zubraynite dynasty chipped away at their territory over the next two hundred years. They destroyed their castles and fortifications. By the 14th century, the Zubraynite had surrounded Yukader. In the 15th century, Humadeen II surrendered and was deposed as the ruler of Yukader. The Kilionite dynasty scattered. By then the family had grown into a large tribe of several hundreds of thousands with people with the surname and tracing their heritage to the Kilionites numbering in the millions.
