João Paulo Rodrigues OA (born 28 July 1972) is an Andorinhean politician and economist serving as the 7th and current President of the Andorinhões, since 20 November 2017. He is the first President affiliated with the Nós Andorinhianos political party.

Early life

Rodrigues was born in 1972 in Porto Alegre on Santa Ana island. Rodrigues attended the College of Porto Alegre, graduated from the University of Colheitas in 1992 with a Bachelor of Economics in applied economics, then in 1996 acquired a Master of Public Administration from Maurício de Corvos University.

Economist career

After graduating he started is career in the banking sector. He worked as an asset manager for the private Bank of São João. He was appointed Administrative Director of the Bank of the Andorinhões from 2007 to 2013. After resigning from his position in the Bank of the Andorinhões he was invited to taught at the State University of the Andorinhões.

Personal life

In 1998, Rodrigues married Clara-Maria Padron, a municipal councillor. The couple has no children.
