History

The Royal Society (1755-1925)

Founding

The Royal Society of Ilesland was founded in 1755 when they seceded from The North. Sir Thomas Snow of Villerona signed the formal letter to the King marking the end of The North. The Royal Society was led by the Snow family who maintained the previous unions system of Kings, Lords, and Serfs. However King Thomas Snow delegated a significant amount of power to the provinces of Ilesland, allowing them to elect representatives and set laws under Provincial Courts. This level of freedom was new to the people and provinces of Ilesland and garnered the Snow family large support.

The First Snow Dynasty

The Snow Dynasty lasted from 1755 to 1790. King Thomas Snow ruled until his death in 1780 when his son Prince Henry Snow took the throne.

Henry was known to be much less merciful than his father, and upon his rise to power King Henry removed all provincial power and dismantled the Provincial Courts. King Henry removed all unroyal citizens from the Castle City within Villerona. This led to what became known as The Great Terror. Knights of Henry's Royal Army were known to execute any dissenters and were given the rights to all land. The king starved thousands of innocent citizens by stealing crops and poisoning cattle. In retaliation Lord Fredrich Wellisburg II of Hurstall led the 1790 Rising, which resulted in the Death of King Henry Snow.

The Wellisburg Dynasty

The Wellisburg Dynasty took over in the summer of 1790 and for his time on the throne there was peace. The lower classes gained significant powers once again, with the establishment of The Royal Parliament. His rule remained uncontested by all classes. The Wellisburg family continued to reign for 90 years, then in 1880 the Snow family killed King Wellisburg IV and reinstated the Snow Dynasty.

The Second Snow Dynasty

The snows returned to the throne in 1880. Not much is known about this time as the King burned all history records. We do know he dismantled The Royal Parliament but little else is known of the time.

The "Duocratic" Period (1925-1975)

In July of 1925 the Anti Monarchal Coalition killed the King and instated what became known as The Duocracy. This was the beginning of what we call Modern Ilesland, and was a decisively rough start. While the Coalition maintained majority support and were a popular regime there was an extreme limit to power. All decisions were made by the two Dear Leaders, who held supreme executive power over all other members of the Council.

Despite the imbalance the Coalition used their power to educate the population and introduce Capitalism into Ilisian society as a replacement for monarchism. The Coalition were the first to divide Ilesland into multiple individual provinces, who would meet with the state to better attend to the needs of their jurisdiction.

Over the next few decades Democracy began to take favour over benevolent dictators and Jack Snow began the Democratic Revolution. By 1975 he had executed the Dear Leaders and held the first election.

Ilesland First Democratic Movement (1975~1984)

The first election brought about yet another member of the Snow Family, who would in just five years would be removed from office and sentenced to death by hanging for his funding of domestic terrorists and embezzlement, both class treasons punishable by death.

In yet another twist of irony the next elected official was Hunter Wellisburg. He was also the Founder of the Civil Military, a system created to counteract the rampant crime and terrorism brought about by the negligent Snow family. This would be the only honest achievement of his administration that would hold any semblance of value or importance. He is known as one of the worst leaders in our history, and is regarded by many as a topic not even worthy of thought or discussion.

The Civil Military Era (1984-2010)

The Civil Military of Ilesland (or ICM) was initially created by Wellisburg to combat crime and terrorism. In 1990 the ICM initiated the Martial Law Edict and began their accent to power.

The Founding

Initially the ICM was a derivative of the Royal Military who were kept in the Motherland to maintain peace. They were divided into smaller groups called ICM Units, deployed to the individual districs of every city. The ICM Units were controlled by the Head Official of the ICM, Natalie Daggarbourne, and reported to her for assignment.

Structure

The Civil Military branched into multiple groups that would control different localities. These were called local units, and were responsible for maintaining order and control in their respective areas.

Ilisian Fight For Freedom (2010-2011)

The IFF was a civil war that lasted for only one year fought by the Rebel Army against the Civil Military. The IFF was led by James Turner, who would later become the first president of The New Order of Ilesland. The IFF were known to be ruthless against Civil Military Guards, often burning or mutilating them as a show of power.

The IFF got it's start in the Underground, or the Market, which was a system of black market vendors who operating underneath the ruins of various former houses. When the IFF began they ran a nationwide attack on the Message Server Grid the ICM used as thier primary communications network. The group of 23 who manned the first attack were all captured and killed by the ICM, with the exception of Turner.

The Two Years Peace (2011-2013)

After the IFF victory, the New Order was founded to rebuild Ilesland from the ground up. They re-instated the Ministerial System and rebuild homes and businesses destroyed by the ICM. The beginning of The Restructuring was known as the Two Years Peace, as it was the only time that East and West were united under the New Order.

The Seven Years War (2013-2020)

The Daggarbourne family held a coup that resulted in the divide of the East and West Ilesland. This would spark yet another civil war between the free west and illegitimate East. Upon the secession the Eastern Civil Military took up power, continuing the decade long pattern of fascism and violence in Ilesland.

United Ilesland (2020-Present)

President Gianna Janssen officially ended the Seven Years War in 2020 when Royal Military Forces overthrew and executed the leader of the ECM.

Daggarbourne Genocide

The Daggarbourne genocide, carried out by PDL Janssen and the Workers Party, was the systematic extermination of the entire Daggarbourne bloodline, and all directly connected bloodlines. While the official death toll is unknown, there are no Daggarbourne family members still alive in Ilesland. This event was controversial, though it did have a large group of support, primarily in Eastern Ilesland.

Communist Revolution

Gianna would only be president for a few weeks under Unified Ilesland, before succumbing to symptoms of COVID-19. After which current PDL Cannon held a single day coup, resulting in the foundation of the USRI and INCP.

Geography

Ilesland is 467,720.57 square kilometers in size and is made up of 18 provinces and the Lackley Island. Being a part of the Lake Miiyu Region of Yasteria Major Ilesland is known for harsh winter and mild to warm summers.

Demographics

Population

The population of Ilesland is 36,212,423 and is entirely populated, legally, by the human race. The government of Ilesland since it's founding has been staunchly anti-nonhuman. As a result all immigration and residency requires that the subject be entirely and purely human. The Division of Internal Investigations has stated that the population of non human illegals is increasing, though the exact number remains unknown.

Language

The predominant language is Codexian, though there are no language requirements past a basic understanding of Codexian and Native Ilisian. Native Ilisian is taught in schools, though has become less prevalent in modern communication due to it's outdated structures and lack of modern words. As a result over 80% of native born Ilisians do not fluently speak Native Ilisian, and of that 56% don't speak it at all.

Religion

While the practice of religion is currently legal there are no legal protections for the practice. Due to the INCPs refusal to aid in the funding of any religious organization many churches are starting to close down. The idea of religion has been continuously met with semi-hostility by Ilisians, as they often see them as nothing more than a means to justify murder and war. According to the 2020 census only 35% of Ilisians practice a form of theistic worship.

Government

The government of Ilesland is broken into multiple different regimes throughout history. Often times governments in Ilesland have been known to be corrupt and many different political officials have been assassinated, or died under unnatural causes. That being said The government has been systematically restructuring since early 2012 to work to weed out corruption and abuse of power.

Modern Government

The modern government is dictated by the Ilisian Neo-Constitution and is broken into three separate Houses: The House of the Executive, The House of the Ministries, and the Royal Courts

The House of Executives

The House of Executives is headed by the President, who is regarded as the "President, Dear Leader." The PDL elects to his house a set of delegates, known as a cabinet, to head a series of executive powers. The Executive holds the power of veto against the other branches, though is required to obey the Royal Courts interpretation of the Neo-Constitution. The Executive House holds an election every year, and places no term limits on presidency.

The House of Ministries

The House of Ministries is the authoritative figure of the Ministries of Ilesland. The Head of House is elected every three years by the members of the Ministries. They hold the responsibility of managing funding and regulation of the Ministries.

Politics

Ilesland's political climate has always been one of drama and corruption. The Democratic Revolutions saw the birth of several different political factions over time.

Democratic Revolutionaries

The Democratic Revolutionaries, or Democratic Party, was the party who led the Revolution against the Duocratic Officials in the 1970s. The party quickly lost favour, however, after the Party Head, Jack Snow, was arrested for meddling in Terror groups.

Wellisburg Party

The Wellisburg Party held one election, Hunter Wellisburg. They founded the Civil Military.

The Ilisian New Order

The Ilisian New Order, commonly known as the New Order, was the political party of President Turner, the leader of the Fight For Freedom. The New Order funded Operation Cleanup after the Civil War and were very reliant on foreign trades. The party held 100% support until it was dismantled at the beginning of the Seven Years War.

The Liberal Party

The Liberal Party was formed by a group of members from the New Order. The Liberal Party was focused on maintaining infrastructure, green power, and the subversion of Eastern Government. The Head of their party was Alice Naomi during the Western Election. While never holding the office of president many members of Parliament were Liberal and the Royal Courts were majority Liberal.

The Worker's Party

The Worker's Party held the title of President from 2017-2020 and were the majority party in the Executive House. The worker's party were social democrats who put heavy funding into centralized industry. The Head of the Worker's Party was the late Gianna Janssen.

The Workers Party led the Reunification Effort, which united East and West Ilesland, eradicating Civil Military rule. The Worker's party also carried out the Daggarbourne genocide, a controversial act that resulted in the death of all immediate members of the Daggarbourne bloodline, in an effort to prevent further uprising. PDL Janssen was also close friends of PDL Cannon of the INCP, and aided in the creation of the Neo-Communist Movement prior to their rise to power.

The Party Nationals

The Party Nationals were a party who held many controversies. Nationals held minority support throughout their run in the 2017 election and throughout their existence. The party split in two during the 2020 pre-election

Capital Puritans

This fringe party existed exclusively during the 2020 pre-election. Framed around the ideology of unfettered capitalism, the Puritan Party was dissolved by the INCP upon their victory in the revolution.

The Environmental Party

The IEP is actually still present in Socialist Ilesland, though they are not currently running for election. The IEP is founded on the principle of "retuning to a neutral state, living symbiotically with the world around us. Taking as little as we can and returning as much as we can." They focus almost entirely on eliminating all carbon emissions, all industrial pollution, and all unnecessary waste.

The Ilisian Neo-Communist Party

The Ilisian Neo-Communist Party, or INCP is a political ideology centered around a modern spin on Marxism and communist theory. They took control of the government during the Communist Revolution of 2020, as well as winning the 2020 pre-election. They have a majority support currently, and are running for re-election in 2021.

The Green Communists

The GCP is centered around the end goals of communism. Classless, stateless, and moneyless. They abstain from running currently to endorse the INCP

The Conservative Party

Founded by Party Head Olivia Lynne, the Conservatives focus on a return to Capitalism in Ilesland and are the direct opposition to the INCP.
