The Holy Deus Church, referred to as Deusism, is a millenia-old monotheistic international religion on Urth. Deusism is headed by an elected High-Cardinal by the Cardinal College and is considered to be the closest individual to Deus, the Deusism deity. The Holy Deus Church proclaims that its Bishops are direct descendants of the Amici of Filius Dei (Disciples of the Son of God), and that the Cardinals are relatives of Saint Titus. The only exception to this rule is that the monarch of Petra Cauda is made Cardinal on their coronation, in-line with the Petrovian divine right of kings.
