Fourth Johannes ministry: Difference between revisions

During this ministry, Johannes played a large role in the reunification of [[Aurora]] and the subsequent formation of the [[UNAC]]. Issues of the continent were as important as internal ones. The Conservatives went against their manifesto promise by rising taxes, including an increase to income taxes, property taxes, capital gains, inheritance taxes, and Value Added Tax (VAT) to pay for post-war rebuilding; and an aggressive foreign policy approach in the [[Ethalns]], which included building garrisons, the immediate disarmament of the [[Ethalria (Matriarchy)|Matriarchy of Ethalria]]'s nuclear program and aiding provisional governments in quashing rebellion. These factors were widely unpopular. The Conservatives backed the right-wing [[Kirk Santon]] in the 2018-2019 Rodenian military intervention, which proved fatal come the next general election as Johannes' vision of a united, democratic [[Rodenia]] saw it become a fascist dictatorship.
