As the bloody fight for independence was fought, numerous rock songs spurred the population to action. Among them was [["This Free Land"]], which eventually was adopted as the national anthem. Out of this rose a democratic government; [[Chance Syng]] was elected president on January 9th, 1972 SD. This officially began the existence of Emberwood Coast as a sovereign nation.
Syng was the president for eight years, ending their two term presidency on January 8th, 1980.
