He turned against Merrill during the [[2023 Cappedorite coup d'état|2023 coup]] after defecting to the [[People's Reform Party]] on 15 May 2023. As a result of this, after the dissolution of Cappedore, Durand was appointed as Chairman of the [[Provisional Congress of Wealden|Provisional Congress]] in May 2023. |
