There are many different types of shrines which cause much debate among theologists however the Association uses only three different terms.

Sainthood refers to a shrine that's reserved for the worshipping/respecting a saint.

Nature category is used for when a shrine is worshiping/respecting a spirit from nature.

Mystical is one of the least used types, mostly due the perception of non-Akuanists causing controversy with the term. It's used for supernatural, otherworldly and demonic worship spirits. It's seen as a important duty for Akuanists to keep such spirits in their shrines by performing rituals and place, a duty seem to the mocking others.

Grade/Status uses a F- to A+ grade scale, which rates the shrine structural needs and capacity to serve.
